Redoing the silicone around the bath is one of those jobs that looks simple until you try it. The old bead will not come off, the new one smears, and the masking tape leaves a ragged edge.

The SealSmooth Silicone Caulking Tool Kit covers the whole job. A multi-tool with a stainless steel blade takes the old sealant out, and a set of shaped pads and spatulas draws the new bead into a neat, even line.

Nine pieces in all: the main tool, a hooked scraper, four white nozzle pads and three blue smoothing spatulas in different profiles.

Good to Know

🧰 Pieces: 9 in total
🔪 Blade: stainless steel, for old silicone
📐 Profiles: several corner angles and radii
🧴 Material: plastic and stainless steel
🛁 For: baths, showers, sinks, windows, floors

Why You'll Love It

🧹 Old Sealant Out
The steel blade gets under dried silicone and lifts it from tiles and enamel instead of shredding it.

🛁 Will Not Scratch
The flat stainless steel edge is made to run along glazed surfaces without marking them.

📐 An Angle For Every Corner
Different tips and pad profiles give a concave, flat or rounded bead, inside or outside corners.

✨ Clean Line Without Tape
Draw the tool along the fresh sealant and it leaves a smooth edge – no masking tape to peel off later.

♻️ Less Waste
Excess sealant collects on the pad rather than ending up on the tiles, and can be wiped back into use.

💧 Seals Properly
An even bead with no loose edges leaves no gaps for water to creep behind and turn to mould.

🏠 Inside And Outside
Showers and kitchens, but also window frames, skirting and floor joints.

🧼 Easy To Clean
Wipe the plastic parts before the silicone sets and they are ready for next time.

👌 Easy For Beginners
The shaped pads do the smoothing, so you do not need a practised wet finger to get a professional-looking joint.

Doing The Job

Cut out the old sealant with the blade, scrape away the rest and let the joint dry completely. Apply the new bead, then pull the smoothing pad along it in one steady movement. For a bath, fill it with water before sealing so the joint is set at the bath's lowest position and does not crack later.

Try the profile on a short stretch first. Wipe the tools straight after use – fresh silicone comes off easily, cured silicone does not.

A neat finish, first time 🛁
