The trouble with an ordinary piggy bank is that nothing happens until you break it open. A child drops coins into a slot for six months with no idea whether that is a lot or very little, and the saving stops feeling like anything at all.

The CountJar puts the total on the lid. Every coin that goes through the slot is recognised and added, and the running figure sits on an LCD display where anyone can see it. Watching the number climb is the part that keeps a child coming back to it.

The jar holds 1.8 litres โ€” somewhere between 800 and 1000 coins โ€” and the lid twists off completely when it is time to take the money to the bank.

Why You'll Love It

๐Ÿ”ข It Counts for You
Each coin is identified as it drops through the slot and added to the total on the display. There is no sorting, no stacking and no counting it all out on the kitchen table.

๐Ÿ‘€ The Total Is the Point
A visible, growing number turns saving into something a child can follow. That is the whole difference between this and a ceramic pig.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Clear Jar
You can see the coins as well as the figure, which somehow matters โ€” the pile and the number tell the same story in two different ways.

โž• Add and Subtract Buttons
Two buttons on the lid let you correct the total by hand if a coin is miscounted or you take some out. It does not quietly drift out of step.

๐Ÿซ™ Holds a Real Amount
1.8 litres takes up to a thousand coins. Depending on what goes in, that can be a genuinely useful sum by the end of a year.

๐Ÿ”“ Twist Off the Lid
No smashing, no prising at a rubber bung and no shaking coins out through a slot. The lid comes off in one movement when you want the money.

๐Ÿคฒ Grooves to Hold
Two recesses in the jar body give you something to grip, which matters once it is full and surprisingly heavy.

๐ŸŽ A Present That Lasts
Birthdays, Christmas, a first bank account, a moving-in gift. It stays useful long after the novelty of the display wears off.

โ˜• Not Only for Children
A landing spot for the change out of a pocket at the end of the day. Most adults have no idea how much that comes to over a year, and this tells you.

๐Ÿ”‹ Simple Electronics
Two AAA batteries run it for a long time, since it only wakes up when a coin goes in. Batteries are not included โ€” worth having a pair ready.

Watch the Number Climb

Choose the right currency version โ€” the counter recognises the coins it was built for, so a pound jar will not read euros correctly.

Drop coins in one at a time rather than a handful at once; that is how any mechanical counter stays accurate.
