Threading is the oldest way of removing facial hair and still one of the kindest to skin: a twisted cotton thread catches the hair and lifts it out, with nothing applied, heated or left behind. The catch has always been that doing it to yourself, in a mirror, is close to impossible.

The SilkThread does the twisting for you. A loop of cotton thread turns in the head of the handset, and you glide it over the skin — the same technique a salon uses, in a device you hold in one hand.

There is no wax to warm, no cream to leave on for ten minutes and no blade. It charges over USB and the thread is a consumable you replace when it eventually wears through.

Why You'll Love It

🧵 Threading, Not Shaving
The hair is lifted out rather than cut off at the surface, so what grows back is a fine new hair rather than a blunt stub. That is why threaded skin stays smooth for longer than shaved skin.

🧴 Nothing Applied to the Skin
No wax, no depilatory cream, no chemicals at all. For anyone whose face reacts to cream or who has given up on wax strips, a mechanical method is worth trying.

🎯 Precise on Small Areas
The head is small enough for an upper lip, the sides of the face or stray brow hairs — the places where a razor is clumsy and wax is far too committal.

🔘 One Button
Press to start, glide, press to stop. There are no settings to work out and nothing to assemble beyond loading the thread.

🔌 USB Charging
A 500 mAh battery charges from any USB port and lasts through several sessions. It travels without a special charger.

💷 Cheap to Keep Running
Cotton thread costs almost nothing, so the running cost is close to zero. A salon appointment every few weeks is a different kind of budget.

🪞 Done at Home, in Your Own Time
Five minutes in front of a bathroom mirror whenever it suits, rather than booking an appointment and travelling to it.

🎨 Pink or Gold
Both finishes look like something you would leave out on a shelf rather than hide in a drawer.

🪶 Small Enough to Pack
Handset and a roll of thread take up no more room than a lipstick, which makes it a sensible thing to have in a travel bag.

⚠️ Expect a Little Pinch
Threading pulls hair out, so it is not painless — most people describe it as a brief sting that fades quickly and bothers them less each time. Start on a small patch.

An Old Technique, Made Possible Alone

Use it on clean, dry skin and move slowly against the direction of growth. Going too fast is what makes it uncomfortable.

The cotton thread is meant to wear through eventually — that is normal, and a fresh length takes seconds to fit. Synthetic thread grips less well, so stick with cotton.
