A filled pastry made by hand is a fiddly thing. You roll two rounds, spoon something into the middle, try to press the edges together, and half of it leaks out in the oven anyway.

PiePress Christmas Hand Pie Moulds do the whole job in one movement. Lay the pastry over the open mould, add the filling, fold the other half across and press it shut. The mould cuts the shape, crimps the edge and stamps the pattern at the same time.

What comes out is a sealed little pie in the shape of a reindeer, a Santa, a gingerbread man, a snowman, a gingerbread house, a stocking, a Christmas tree or a nutcracker — pattern on the top, proper crimped seam all the way round.

Good to Know

🎄 Eight shapes: reindeer · Santa · gingerbread man · gingerbread house · stocking · snowman · Christmas tree · nutcracker
📏 Size: about 6 cm / 2.36 in per pie
🍴 Material: food-grade plastic, reusable
🥧 Works with: shortcrust, puff pastry, biscuit dough, filled or plain
🧽 Care: wash by hand in warm soapy water and dry

Why You'll Love It

🤏 One Press, Three Jobs
Cutting, sealing and stamping happen together when the mould closes. There is no crimping with a fork and no separate cutter — which is the whole reason hand pies usually get skipped.

🧁 Nothing Leaks
The crimped seam runs unbroken around the edge, so jam, mincemeat or cheese stays where you put it instead of welding itself to the baking tray.

🎅 The Pattern Survives Baking
The relief inside the mould is deep enough that the face, the buttons and the scarf are still there when the pastry has risen. A shallow stamp disappears; these do not.

🧒 Children Can Use Them
No blade, no sharp edge, no heat involved. A four-year-old can press a mould shut on their own, which makes this an afternoon rather than a ten-minute job you do for them.

🥧 Sweet or Savoury
Mincemeat, apple, jam and chocolate on one tray; cheese and onion, leftover turkey or sausage meat on another. The mould does not care what is inside.

📏 Lunchbox Sized
At about 6 cm each pie is one portion. They go into lunchboxes, onto party platters and into tins without being cut up.

🧰 They Keep Their Shape
The plastic is thick enough to take repeated hard pressing without bending at the hinge, so the set comes back out next December as it went away.

🎁 A Present for Somebody Who Bakes
Small, cheap to post and immediately usable. For a secret Santa among people who cook, it is a better bet than another tea towel.

❄️ Freeze Them Raw
Press a whole batch, freeze them flat on a tray and bake them from frozen when people turn up. It is the single most useful thing about hand pies.

🧽 Quick to Wash
Warm soapy water and a brush into the relief. They are not for the dishwasher, but they rinse clean in seconds.

Getting a Clean Press Every Time

Keep the pastry cold and roll it a little thicker than you think. Warm, thin pastry tears as the mould closes and the seam never quite forms.

Do not overfill. A teaspoon is enough — anything more pushes into the seam and stops it closing.
